Adrian and Joyce started WOOSH-it in 2007 with a vision that we as simple 20 something’s, can make a difference in someone else’s life, no matter how significant that may be. Our mission is to help as many people as possible in our lifetime in any way we can. As cheesy and cliche all this may sound to some, we don’t care as we know this is our path, our purpose and passion. Nothing can persuade us to do anything different. Why not? Each individual has their own purpose, all it takes is action and the ability to see past what others think. If they laugh- so what? Focus on being enthusiastic about what you do, everything else will fall into place, just don’t lose the momentum. It takes a true leader to have the courage to stand out from the crowd and pursue whatever it is that makes you happy.
We came up with the name sitting at Borders brainstorming a business name. We were flipping through different names around a visual concept of a person spinning around facing a new life or overcoming negativity, much like a before and after transformation. The words “woosh, wooshit, wooshnow, whoosh,wooshme “ came into mind and both immediately felt that it was the “one”. To turn this into a concept, whenever we were thinking or talking about fear, doubt or were angry toward someone we would say just “WOOSH-it”- to snap out of your current state of mind and feeling NOW. The name “AJdaily” came about at at our corporate jobs. We decided to write a daily newsletter within our department with team news, company events/news, weather, positive articles etc so we combined this with WOOSH-it.
We will be documenting our “WOOSH-it Journey” in this blog of how we got started, how ideas were formed and what challenges we faced in achieving our dreams.
We are also aiming at starting up a school in the poorer nations such as Philippines for those who are disadvantaged and less fortunate and are hoping to raise funds.
